That was the reason I was looking at WDSc.  The record size and number of 
records only allow me to do about a 1/10 of the file.  That and I know the 
source compare in WDSc works pretty good and worked with 45,000+ line 
programs, so I was hoping that it would work for larger data files.  Now 
even just data-files, since I can't find a way to make it work so far.

Have you tried CMPPFM? It's the same engine behind SEU option 54. There is
no mention in the help about a limitation on record length, although the
comparison lines will not show the end of very long record.
