I have been doing display files all day today with code designer. I have
not had the problem you mentioned, so it is only physical/logicals that
have the problem with not replacing. As I think back, it was an authority
problem I have had before. I was not the owner of the display file, so I
could not replace it, even though the compile had no errors. When I
changed me to the owner, it compiles. I have run into this with not only
display and printer files, but with programs too. You might check the
   authority/ownership of the objects.

You may be on to something. Weren't the existing files deleted as part
of the compile in the previous release?

When this happens to me, it is usually because the file already
     exists.
It would compile if the file was not there, but because the file
     exists,
        the compiler won't replace it.

        Could this be your problem?

Can anyone tell me how to view the error list after compiling with
     Code
Designer? Under 5.0 I would get a separate screen with error
information after a compile. Now, under 5.1 I don't get anything.
     The
files don't compile but nothing comes back. Compiling from RSE the
          error message handling works fine.
