tl;dr version of key points from Chuck's post (responding to Jon's
"what if you don't have SQL?"):

(1) You definitely have SQL in some form. It comes with the system.

(2) You *might* not have the SQL preprocessor, and if this is the
case, then using SQL via RPG becomes unwieldy, to the point that the
best option is probably just to code the logic "the long way round" in
RPG (which, for the simple functions being discussed in this thread,
isn't all THAT painful).
