Yes, I can do code in SEU for the things you mention - and I never would - no one here is suggesting that.

Rob's reply is right - you CAN use SEU but will have a devil of a time being sure that your syntax is correct.

As David suggested, SEU has not been updated for a long time - maybe not hardlly even for 6.1 - so I think even the nice CL enhancements like %SCAN are not recognized as syntactically correct.
