Thanks for your reply Peter
With ALL the testing on this that I've done based upon the suggestions that
I have received (which as always is MUCH appreciated) I'm NOT 100% sure of
my following reply, but I am 95% sure.
Anyway, to answer your question.
The view that gets created only has ONE member, no matter what I tried with
the OVRDBF, and I think (only 75% sure on this) but the view gets created
from the *FIRST member (whatever that is)

Hi Alan,

Having run into the same problem myself, I read this thread with great
interest. Then I tried:

STRSQL

CREATE VIEW mylib/sourcev AS SELECT * FROM mylib/QRPGLESRC

Exited SQL

OVRDBF FILE(SOURCEV) TOFILE(mylib/QRPGLESRC) MBR(NOT1ST)

STRSQL

SELECT * FROM SOURCEV

this showed the contents of member NOT1ST.

SELECT * FROM mylib/QRPGLESRC

this showed the contents of the first member

Then I tried

OVRDBF FILE(SOURCEV) TOFILE(mylib/QRPGLESRC) MBR(*ALL)

which didn't work -- diagnostic msg SQL0204 "*ALL in *N type *MEM
not found. "

Anyway, is it possible you could simply

OVRDBF FILE(someview) TOFILE(somefile) MBR(somembr)
CALL somepgm

where "somepgm" opens "someview" and processes it?
