Hi Mike

You've heard in several ways but here goes - records are always added at the
end, never inserted in any order, if the REUSEDLT attribute is *NO. If the
REUSEDLT attribute is *YES, you don't know where new records go - could be at
the end, could be anywhere there was a deleted record - deleted records are
actually still there, just marked as deleted in the first byte (the so-called
DENT byte) of each record.

In the old days of MAPICS, physical order mattered - we did not even have the
REUSEDLT attribute then. Some apps use relative record number to relate files -
even now. So be careful with this one. And you should not care if you have an
appropriate key (logical file) over the physical file.
