There is a wrapper for the QtmmSendMail API in *srvpgm QTCP/QTMMSNDM
driven by a SNDEMAIL command.
This originated on News400 in 98, but it did not do binary attachments.
I upgraded it significantly to do this and also to embed a spool file as
the message body.
However, since Net.data comes free with every iSeries, then it is very
easy to make use of the Net.data email feature by writing a one line
script that will do most things including embedding the message as html.
@DTW_sendmail( emaddr, emaddr, sendHTML, "An emailed HTML
form","","","","","","","html" )
Then all you need is a few lines in a CLP to have Net.data run this
script.

At my previous job we had MAILTOOL from bvstools.com which I used to
send email from within RPG programs. While the RPG interface I had was
far from perfect, it did work. Before I go to my new employer with
suggesting purchasing that same product I want to see what other options
there are.
