That's true.  But the odds of a duplicate value on an MD5 hash are
something like 1/10000.  The odds of it happening with the "hash" that he
posted were much, much higher.  Indeed, duplicated values were almost
guaranteed to happen with that solution.

If being absolutely, 100% unique, is a requirement then a hash value won't
work. You'll want to simply concatenate the numbers into a large field.
