Which goes to re-enforce that using a time stamp for unique key is not
valid. Especially with parallel processing of a multiple processor system.

Jeez, our V3R2 model D60 does that! Well, OK, what it does as it concerns
the
original question, is that the same timestamp can, in fact, be written out
for
more than one record. My test:

PF $$$AP:
     A R @@@AP
     A FIELD1 10A
     A TIMEST Z

LF $$$AL:
     A R @@@AP PFILE($$$AP)
     A FIELD1

RPG $$$AR3:
     F$$$AL O E DISK
     C DO 1000 X 50
     C MOVELX FIELD1
     C WRITE@@@AP
     C ENDDO
     C SETON LR

Results:
Record# Field1 Timest
      1 00001 2000-11-22-14.11.39.052032
