A question:  Doesn't the RRN always stay the same?  If record number 2 is 
deleted, doesn't record 3 stay as record 3 until a physical re-org? In 
other words, are concerns over update/add/delete the same concerns as 
would be the case with a regularly indexed file?

This is true for RPG/400 but not for ILE RPG.  ILE RPG updates
the RRN on every I/O, blocked or not.  (#8 in the I/O differences
section in the ILE RPG Programmer's Guide.)
