I have found it similar here in the UK.  I spent 6 weeks out of work before
I found my current contract which is over 300 miles from home and is paying
a much lower rate than my last. I get the feeling that everyone is putting
off new work until next year and at the moment, I am hanging on hoping the
market will improve about February next year.  I am also using this time to
get further into ILE and Java.
