The problem I found with my chromecast at two different hotels is that I
couldn't get past the hotel security when I tried to set it up. One hotel
specifically said netflix and streaming was not allowed. Can't remember all
the details though.

Some of them also provide the ability to create a private hotspot ... you
connect to the hotels wireless network and create private wireless network
so that multiple devices can share the single outbound connection.

It's very handy when you have to pay for connections.

I've also found that many vacation rentals offer a wired connection in
addition to wireless.
