I still can't get to the FTP site for i Access. I click on the 50567 link
and ultimately get (in chrome): "The webpage at
*ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/v7r1m0/servicepack/si50567
<ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/v7r1m0/servicepack/si50567>*
might
be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."

In Firefox I get an alert box "425 Can't open data connection."

Jeff,

I am having issues with the PTF site (letters in a different order! ;^) )
- I wonder if IBM is having issues with their servers. I have 3 sessions
hung trying to download ptf SI51438 and they all are hung (using
SNDPTFORD). Fix Central responds, to a point, but I can not get past the
"creating order" bit.

Heh. I'm trying to do that and it says the ftp site isn't available.

Hey Jeff,

I download the .exe file from the IBM support site, the run it as
Administrator to extract the files and start the install. If IBMI i
access
it is already there, it will do the update. I don't remember having
any
recent issues, except sometimes it wants me to reboot the computer
because
it says one is pending from another install. That can be annoying.

Never done that before. In

\\Qdilgard\qibm\ProdData\Access\Windows\Image64a

is it setup.exe or cwbinstall.msi?

Try directly running the SP installer as Administrator off the

(or

distrusts
executables from outside normal application paths (\Windows,

I'm doing the "Check Service Level" icon by right-clicking and
Run
as
Administrator. It checks, says I need to install the service
pack, I
confirm, it asks if I want to continue, I say yes, it says
Preparing
to
install, then bombs.

I turned off the AV and got the same result.

Agreed. Also, I don't recall if it was mentioned before but
are
you
running the installers as Administrator? Right-click the exe
and
select
Run as Administrator.

I'd suggest checking the Windows event log to see why it isn't
installing.
There may be a message.

Another thought: Are there any Group Policy Objects (GPOs) or
application
white/blacklisting apps in place that might restrict software
installation?

What kind of anti-virus/system protection products are you

"This installation package could not be opened. Verify

I decided it's time to figure this out. I found this

which in turn sends me here:

I have downloaded vcredist_x86 (they're 32-bit laptops),
run
it,
rebooted,
and it did not help. Same error.

What am I missing?
