Re: Baseline article: Is There Really an IT Labor Shortage?

What is your point, Trevor?

It seems that we have always been on opposite sides of this issue, and this
article supports what I have been saying for years...

The claims of technical worker shortages, along with the absurd claim by
Bill Gates that for each H-1B worker hired that another 3 or 4 American
workers get hired (janitors, maybe?) are simply ploys by industry to justify
their desire to replace higher-paid older workers with younger cheaper ones.

(...and that claim made by Billy-Boy is based on "research" done by NFAP, a
one-man 501-c foundation run by Stuart Anderson, who is a known shill for
the ITAA and the high-tech lobby)

I'd have much more respect for these companies if they would simply be
honest about what they are doing:
"Sorry, Mr. American worker, but you have worked here for 10 years and we
are paying you too much. If you are willing to work for a lower salary,
we'll keep you employed, otherwise we're going to replace you with a cheaper
worker on an H-1B visa."

You should also read some of the other papers written by Vivek Wadhwa...
