Thanks, Jim, for this, I just wasn't in a place to dig into this again. I suspect most writer jobs are not set up to give all the detail.

I did wonder if, in the display of the job log on the screen, if he was using the minimal detail setting - and I'm nearing sleep and don't even remember if DSPJOBLOG of another job has the F10 switch.

I hear you saying Gio should start the writer, then change the job logging setup, to make it report all messages, then run the print job. Is that what you suggest?
