Your point is well-taken. This one is an easy one to get confused over. The function came out in 7.4 and is tied to that release and after. ACS is not tied to any release of the operating system in the same way.

The GENERATE_SPREADSHEET function is not part of ACS, it uses something from ACS (the CLDOWNLOAD plugin). The doc for GENERATE_SPREADSHEET says it is "...an example of invoking a Qshell command from within an SQL scalar function." This is essentially what I mentioned, that the OP can get the same results using the java command in QShell - Scott Forstie (in his gists) and others have published this technique.

Still and again, it's really important to heed your caveat, to keep things separate as to what is responsible for what.

Cheers
Vern

This will list the release and/or PTF group you will need to get that
spreadsheet function:

Those who point to it being an issue with iACS have me wondering: If I
tried SELECT ICST FROM ERPLXF.IIM WHERE IPROD = 'XYZ' and I got a message
that IIM wasn't found would you suggest a new version of iACS?
