Correct! Back to the buy/build discussion. Is it more of a business benefit to use a commercial product or roll your own?
We have chosen the roll your own with respect to monitoring the systems we manage since the cost of the commercial products vastly outweighs the business benefit. IBM is making that possible with all the API points it is putting into the system, at no additional cost beyond its support, which has significant business value..
