If you're up for a little Python to list your directories and find out when files and library objects are being created or used or you want to test sizes to figure out what's taking up space, this Python script could be the start of your own disk cop.

Check out this python site
https://github.com/richardschoen/pymonfori

This Python script will smoke through your IFS and capture all your key IFS and Library (/QSYS.LIB dir) metrics to a DB2 table which you can then query. I just added create, modify and access timestamps as well.
https://github.com/richardschoen/pymonfori/blob/main/pydircrawltodb.py

Example usage to crawl /tmp folder and place into outfile TMP/TMPCRAWL
python3 pydircrawltodb.py --dirname=/tmp --outputtable=TMP.TMPCRAWL

Example usage to crawl root / folder and all subdirectories including /QSYS.LIB for library objects and place into outfile TMP/TMPCRAWL
python3 pydircrawltodb.py --dirname=/ --outputtable=TMP.TMPCRAWL

WARNING: If crawling a lot of directories possibly do off-hours as this thing will rip through your IFS pretty quickly. It's faster than any other disk utils I've used before.

Richard Schoen

subject: qsys2.user_info_basic

Keeping in mind we just upgraded from 7.3 to 7.5 ten days ago... we just noticed today how slow this UDF is.

In run sql scripts, the following takes about 40 seconds to return a few hundred rows of users. The odd thing is that the "basic" takes twice as long as the qsys2.user_info. This previously only took a few seconds.

Anyone else see this?

SELECT
user_name,
prvsignon,
signoninv,
status,
pwdchgdat,
usrcls,
text
FROM
qsys2.user_info_basic
-- qsys2.user_info
WHERE
(
user_name not like 'Q%'
and nopwd = 'NO'
)
ORDER BY
user_name
