This performance problem was reported through support a few weeks ago. Additional user profile processing was necessary in IBM i 7.5 which caused the performance to degrade.

The fixing PTF is being tested and should be available as a test PTF toward the end of September.

The downside to the fix is that we will no longer return a value for the USER_DEFAULT_PASSWORD column within the QSYS2.USER_INFO_BASIC view. Going forward, it will always return a null value. To access this column of information, the slower view, USER_INFO, must be used.


Keeping in mind we just upgraded from 7.3 to 7.5 ten days ago... we just noticed today how slow this UDF is.



In run sql scripts, the following takes about 40 seconds to return a few hundred rows of users. The odd thing is that the "basic" takes twice as long as the qsys2.user_info. This >previously only took a few seconds.



Anyone else see this?
