If the date/time/timestamp fields are *NOT* defined in the RPG program and a record is added, it will automatically contain the current date/time value instead of the *Loval values. The way to do that is to create a LF or view that does not contain those fields, but only contains the original fields, without the date/time fields. The easiest way to accomplish this with an existing application (IMHO) is to rename the original PF to a new name and name the new LF/view the original name. That way, no application changes are required.

I guess I had hoped it would capture the date/time the record was created. Tli support says the EDI translator won't update those "automatically".

Anyone know of a method of getting these fields to update with current info upon creation? Otherwise, I'll have to update them in my RPG processing program.
