You can move big amounts of data (up to 2 GB) it into SQL Global Variables.
When trying to move the data into a SQL Global Variable with Data Type XML,
you can directly use the XMLPARSE.
Alternatively you can try to insert the XML document into a (temporary)
table with an XML column. When inserting it is not even necessary to execute
the XMLPARSE. The insert will fail for an non-wellformed XML document.

Subject: Re: Good way to identify malformed XML?
Before continuing, let me say these are on-demand services and response time
is important (min, max & mean are tracked month-to-month).
Jerry, I'm concerned about jumping to PASE repeatedly taking too much time.
Tim, XMLPARSE looks good but requires the XML to be in a variable. A SQL
char() can't hold these XML files, so I'll need to find the most efficient
way to read an IFS file into a CLOB (provided that XMLPARSE can handle a
CLOB variable).
Thanks
