Are you sure you can't still restrict those settings via CLI? A lot of the
functionality that has been lost in the GUI, remains in the CLI. I have
become proficient in the use of the CLI just because of that (and because I
like my devices to have consistent numberings, at least to begin with).

Wrong. You can easily create users and assign pre-created, very granular
settings in HMC which user is allowed to do *what* on *which* LPAR.
