It has been a decade or more since I've used something other than a media library. However IBM i can easily span multiple cartridges.

Now, how you tell virtual tape (not to be confused with a VTL) to unload one volume and load up the next while running a restricted state restore might be interesting. Maybe it does it by the volume sequence #?
