Every time someone talks about how rock-solid twinax is I have a mental
vision of them standing at the console in a steam-punk outfit.
Probably OK if you are a hobbyist, but not the outfit - or console - I
would choose to for real work, (or in any situation I can think of really)

It was never that great in my experience, it was highly dependent on who
did the cabling, how much the cabling was stretched and the quality of the
joins and connectors.

Even if the myth of how rock solid it was was actually true, I would
happily swap that for the remote console and front panel access provided by
a HMC, simply unbeatable.

You could chew up a double wad of double-bubble chewing gum and stuff it
up in the corner. Then instead of the annoying bus you got more of a
'hmmmmm' :-)

This is disgusting! :-)
