I believe that Brad needs to get out of the office more.
Most computers DO allow multiple IP's on one NIC.
And many people bind specific for MANY other applications than just http. I even listed Domino previously.
When one has one of those tinfoil hat wearing people for a network admin and he wants to know exactly which IP address you're coming from and why you can run into issues.
