Hello everyone, something odd just started happening to me - not sure how I did this.
When I start up my 9404 C10 using option B, my Twinax connected 3196 Display Station comes up as console but something goes wrong. When I enter 1 for "Perform an IPL" or 3 for "Use Dedicated Service Tools" ... odd characters appear and seem to lock up the keyboard.
Below I pressed 1 then ENTER .... But as you can see "h" appears. I cannot erase or change this "h."
I did run the Keyboard, Auto-termination Unit and Logic Unit tests from the "Problem Solving Guide" (powering up with spacebar etc.) but it appears that my Display Station is good. Keyboard tests verified it has the US keyboard setting.
Any thoughts?
Apologies in advance - I am an IBM novice without any experience other than an unfathomable interest in these beautiful old machines :)
Andy
