You can check the HMC status from the the IBM i.

call matmatr with hex 0204 or 0206

you get returned HMCStat:

The values of HMC connection state can be
1 = the HMC is connected
2 = the HMC is temporarily disconnected
3 = the HMC is permanently disconnected
4 = the HMC is not communicating

All our iSeries LPAR reported multiple temperature alarms, SRC11007201 - AMBTEMP.
Cannot currently access our HMC remotely via WEB interface..
I think it may have shut down, due to high temperature.
Data Center was over 100, temp coming back down.
Any other ways to remotely check HMC.
