What version of windows? With 2008 and newer you have to make some changes to the security options regarding NTLM v2 packets.

Second consideration is the name of the server must be 12 or less characters.

Final consideration, off the top of my head, is the share names must be 12 characters or less.

Then use the command MKDIR DIR('/QNTC/server name')

Then WRKLNK '/QNTC/*') to see all the servers mounted to QNTC where you can drill down to their shares.

Yes, understand that accounts must match up via QNTC.

Tried both lower and uppercase letters on the windows server.
Not being absolutely sure how the AS/400 is sending it.

When you ping, it does take the server name and map it to the static IP
address.
