Not an actual part of TR 6 as I understand it, but I loaded the PTFs at
the same time.

There's a fix for RDi 9.0 that supports all the new free form stuff.

Charles, did this come at a certain TR level?

The documentation I see here says /free and /end-free are a 7.2 thing:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_72/rzasc/rpgrelv7r2.htm

Also, I've been trying to find examples of doing SQL cursors without
/end-exec, but can't find any. Only short statements like inserting or
deleting records, nothing for reads.

Anyone see an example? RDI seems to complain about the lack of /end-exec.

You can leave off the /free /end-free and /end-exec at 7.1.

There we go! Guess we just need to get on the bandwagon and update to
7.2.

Very nice. Didn't know you could do that!

You can also leave out the /free and /end-free as well as the /end-exec.
(I'm on 7.2)

exec sql
declare cursorname cursor for (
select a, b, c, d, coalesce(e,0),
from myview
where a = :hostvariable);
