If you're doing VIOS/NPIV and using V7R1 you should strongly consider
MF99009. It also has fixes for NFS loaded PTFs (with an image catalog)
and
for NFS upgrades. The reason my box phoned home is I set up NPIV tape
devices and it recognized several communications issues. It also has
fixes for it for SSL communications.
I'll admit the special instructions look a bit scary but this one looks
important.
