So on that basis Dieter you think that:

Is harder to understand than that awful mess of SQL that we saw earlier? Sorry can't agree.

I've got nothing against SQL but I do dislike the "The answer is SQL - now what was the question?" approach.

RPG? more readable? strange opinion!
UDF? fast? Materializing the results will beat the UDF and save hours of runtime, If it is needed often, for large tables! --
