Actually those two should not match. On my boxes (perhaps that's changed
with newer virtualizations?) there's two physical interfaces or ports. And
they're not on the same card. One is for configuring for either ASMI or
HMC. Another is for items used by IBM i like CRTLINETH.
I am not intimately familiar with the 8202-E4B but, after looking at the
'rear view' of

I suspect your ASMI port might be P1-T1 and your ethernet port that you
want to use for IBM i might be in the range of P1-C3-T1 through P1-C3-T4.
The extremely paranoid will insist that your ASMI port be on a private
network with only one other device on it; either an HMC or a Lan Console
PC. And if you want remote access to those then you use a second port on
either said HMC or Lan Console. They fear that, regular network users
can't do much via the regular network connection. Just access stuff like
all the SSN's and financial data your company may hold, initialize disk
with STRSST and other stuff. But heaven help you if they access your ASMI
port! (Sarcasm deeply and seriously intended.)
Me, I like redundant HMC's and/or redundant Lan consoles because an issue
with them is much more likely than someone hacking in via the ASMI port.
So I'll put the ASMI port on the lan also.
