Unfortunately, If i'm not mistaken, the regulators are the 3 cards to the
center of the MMA, while the processors are the 2 cards to the left. The
VPDPART PIP is very clear on that if the SRC is 11008414 you must replace
the 2nd processor card, one of 3 possible models, in my case 53CF 03N4468 4.7
GHz two core processor card POWER6, 12 DDR2 memory slotsThat's the part i
love about IBM midrange hardware. The manuals are completely foolproof
(until you reach the "contact next support level").

More likely the voltage regulator on the card. If you dive into the FRU
you might find the failing part is really a voltage regulator ( known to
be problematic on the MMA, I've seen several fail ) and that's one
whale of a lot easier to fix.

In this particular case i oversimplified the "vpd bad" error, IBM says:

11008414
Explanation
Invalid processor VPD
Response
Follow the instructions for the items listed in the FRU List.
Problem determination
No additional problem determination.
Failing Item

- VPDPART<

- TWRCARD<

And the VPDPART failing item tells you to replace the second processor
board.
So, the system VPD is fine, it's a processor assembly that's bad.
