The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Unless they are able to off load the saves to tape and ship those to
you. Still more than 24 hours before you start the recovery.
Ideally you are correct, one copy at your location and replicated copy
at a remote site. That remote site should also be a hot site, that has
power systems ready to reload in the event of a failure, ideally with
the LIC loaded and disk already initialized. Agile (my company) , and
some other folks maintain multiple POWER systems that sit ready for a
recovery in just such an emergency. Now you can be up and running a
bit quicker, albeit with a remote system, and take your time rebuilding
your system in a more relaxed fashion.
What's important is what are the RTO and RPO (Recovery Time Objective
and Recovery Point Objective) that you need. Then build the backup
platforms and systems to support those objectives.

I've also been concerned about people peddling just a remote VTL tape
device. Without a local copy we figure it would take days and days to do
a full system restore across the wire.
