RE: The Future of IBM ..

fixed

The farm, the server, the network, languages(what Oracle didn't keep),
education system, the infrastructure, applications, desktop, the IDE, and
the list goes on and on and on...

This party has been over for a while...good to see the rest of you finally
are realizing it...

All kidding aside, I'd rather be using OS/2 today than Windows. IBM gave
away the farm to Microsoft.

Didn't they try OS/2 Warp as an alternative to TN5250? :-)

Jon,

This has been evident since IBM declined to develop an alternative to the
TN5250 interface and their push to become a "services only" company.

Normally I'd agree with you Brad - but I read this more as a call to arms.
It wasn't the usual chicken-little routine that we have seen for years
regarding IBM i. It takes a serious look at a company that used to epitomize

everything that was good about US business and which frankly now epitomizes
everything bad from lack of care for the individual, lack of care for the
customer, and rabid devotion to this quarter's bottom line.

It is sad.

Especially in our world. This article proves it with it's assumption
