Yep, what Rich said is what I've found too.

Double check other settings too, especially if you were using host table
entries before for any of the names/ips. It's possible they weren't set up.

If you ever want to get away from using the IBM SMTP Server and not worry
about it's archaic/confusing set up, contact me offline. Our MAILTOOL Plus
product will do all this for you. Saves a lot of headaches like this (as
well as other features). Even allows SSL, TLS, and authentication.

Lance,

There are some new parameters in 7.1 for SMTP Attributes. I know from
experience that you may have trouble sending email unless the new
FWDHUBSVR parameter is set up. In most cases I've seen so far, setting
it
to match the Mail Router seems to do the trick.

I've been trying to configure SMTP on our new v7r1 box.
Everything works fine on our v5r4 box and the configurations
look the same to me (except they are different names), but
I cannot get the v7r1 box to respond to telenet on port 25.

Netstat shows smtp listening, there are no messages in the
operator's queue, but e-mail never arrive.

Is there some sort of checklist I can refer to?

Thanks,
lance
