RE: When does a change to the TCP host table take effect?

fixed

QSYS/ADDTCPHTE INTNETADR('10.99.1.101') HOSTNAME((B1))

ping b1
Verifying connection to host system B1 at address 10.99.1.101.

QSYS/CHGTCPHTE INTNETADR('10.99.1.101') HOSTNAME((C1))

ping c1
Verifying connection to host system C1 at address 10.99.1.101.
ping b1
Unknown host, B1.

QSYS/ADDTCPHTE INTNETADR('10.99.1.102') HOSTNAME((B1))
Internet address entry 10.99.1.102 added to host table.

ping b1
Verifying connection to host system B1 at address 10.99.1.102.

It's immediate, as easily demonstrated above.

Subject: When does a change to the TCP host table take effect?

I need to modify my host table to:

1) revise an existing entry by changing two host name values associated this IP address to two new values and;

2 ) add an entry for a new ip address and assign the two original host names previously used in step one to this new ip address.

When does the change take effect? Will I need to bounce TCP ?

Thanks, Jerry
