Yes - the Sharp in CR does not have an IPDS card.

Can you print to modern PCL compliant printers without and IPDS card in them?

All of those copiers/printers "appear" to support PCL, which is great.

Speaking of PCL, when we had our first experience with Cannon copiers a couple years ago we had two different models (which I currently can't remember). One printed fine from our iSeries, the other did nothing.
After a bunch of hair-pulling and talk with tech support we came to find out that although it had PCL, the PCL wasn't activated. If you want PCL, Cannon charges extra for the license if you want to use it. That's something that the sales rep didn't know, didn't mention, and took their technician awhile to figure out. They knew one of our uses was printing from the i so I believe that they ate the cost of that license. They have gone to great lengths since then to make sure that they provide good service.

Having said that, the copiers have worked fine since then. I've got no complaints. Just make sure that you know what you're getting.
