The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

Hi Y'all, for you folks that allow programmers to use STRSQL, how do
you audit them? My interest is in knowing the statements they run

and what data is changed via their STRSQL sessions.

Is it possible to force session info to be generated upon their every
use of STRSQL?
Other than driving the interactive session via a program, because the
capability is limited to responses on prompts presented via the display
file, I do not expect anything other than [something like] DMPSYSOBJ of
any possible "session" objects for the user profile.
I'd like to force an SQL session upon every STRSQL usage and then
make sure that session can not be deleted.
Again, as an interactive utility, the communication of the actions to
perform such as deleting [spooling or copying] the session information
is controlled by interactions with the input prompts via the DSPF. If
the user would be able to delete the session, dumping or other attempts
to access the internal session objects [in QRECOVERY] would not be
available.
General system auditing and object auditing can provide some details,
including the invocation of the STRSQL command, but not the changes to
the data; tracking actual data changes is limited to journaling [or
logging perhaps via triggers] of the data itself.
I think there's 3rd party software that will help but we'll go the
native OS route for now.
Any suggestions/recommendations?
