I have been ordering the PTFs directly from the i5/OS machine. Mine are
connected to the internet behind a firewall. I do a SNDPTFORD and chose the
cume option, tell it I want images, and to put the images in my IFS folder
called PTFCATALOG. I usually give the files a prefix like 'MMDD_' so I can
tell when they were downloaded. I use the image catalog to load and install
the PTFs to the system. Once asked for, it takes a bit to download, but
less time than to get them to my PC, and then upload them to the system.

If you look in the archives for Midrange you will also find a command that
will auto load all the .BIN files into an image catalog, so you can automate
the process.

presume my PC will be the one talking to the system.
