If you're interested in a 3rd party tool I can help. Especially if
you're going to want to email attachments, etc.

We have our base MAILTOOL product which is like SNDDST on steroids,
then with the addition of the MAILTOOL Plus addon you can totally
bypass the IBM SMTP server removing these types of headaches.

I originally wrote all of this for myself but found my customers liked
it so much I put it up for sale and it's evolved a lot since then.

Just in case you were interested. Feel free to contact me offline if you wish.

<http://www.easy400.net/mmailh/faq.htm?ts=ts20113282619>It can give you
some ideas to check, as SMTP's config (mail router, allow firewall, etc) and
other tips.

Also, IBM has a nice PDF about configuring email here:

I turned mail off on my system some years ago when I moved my mail server
to a windows based email server. I have been using the command on other
systems, but it will not work on my system. The command completes normally
but I do not get the emails.

SNDDST TYPE(*LMSG) TOINTNET((dfreinkel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)) DSTD(FF)
MSG(GGGGG) LONGMSG(GGGGE) SUBJECT(DDDDDDDDDD)

I need to use the SNDDST command or similar command to send out emails to
myself for jobs that are failing, like a message to QSYSOPR.

I have started STRMSF and TCP Server *SMTP and have attempted to send out
some test messages/emails.

Can anyone help with ideas on what I should check?

Thank you.
