Here is a great use for iPads and mobile smart phone apps:
I was at a book signing a couple months back. Besides the major publisher
stuff he has written, he also self-publishes another series that the
publisher didn't want. Anyway, at the signing he had an iPad 3G with an
application setup so the fans could buy a book from the self-published
series instantly. They just entered their information and swiped their
credit card. The book would then get shipped from his "warehouse".
Why the story? Depending on what you sell, wouldn't it be great for your
sales teams to instantly showcase your product on an mobile device like that
then complete the sale right away with a swipe of a card? Honestly, with the
"cool factor" of iPad right now, you may even have more sales just because
of how it is demoed. I know that shouldn't be a factor but presentation is
half the demo.
This is just one idea for mobile applications in business...
