Chalie, have you read this article that Scott did:

Yes, but it wasn't helpful.
I just went back to the main page.
http://www.scottklement.com/p7zip/
It occurred to me that the instructions for installing gcc.4.1.1.tar.Z just might be the same as for installing
p7zip. (I didn't originally install p7zip myself, someone else did.)
Since I already uncompressed gcc.4.1.tar.Z, giving me gcc.4.1.tar the next step was to run this:
tar xf gcc.4.1.1.tar
That added a new folder, usr.
But still, I'm getting the same error when I do a 7z.
7z
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program 7z because of the following errors:
0509-150 Dependent module libstdc++.a(libstdc++.so.6) could not be
loaded.
0509-022 Cannot load module libstdc++.a(libstdc++.so.6).
0509-026 System error: A file or directory in the path name does not
exist.
0509-021 Additional errors occurred but are not reported.
From the looks of things, may be I shouldn't have had gcc.4.1.tar in the same folder as 7z before I tarred?
The contents in my Object Links are as follows:
Directory . . . . : /usr/local/lib/p7zip

Thanks for any help I can get,
