Hi Rex,

Let's talk more about this. :) I've been looking for good reasons to upgrade to 6.1 for awhile now, and there haven't been many. I've read a lot of articles about why people should go to 6.1, and have been left cold for the most part.

Your post was the first I had heard of URLs in FTP. This was interesting to me, since URLs are a feature that I could use! It's not a big feature, but added with other things, it'd be be ammunition for my argument to upgrade.

So I was excited when you told me that there are URLs in FTP in 6.1

I went and looked, however, and can't find any information about this in the Info Center for 6.1 at all.

Can you tell me where you learned of this support?

That's the answer... I have a plan this summer to upgrade the other AS/400
to V6R1.

Thanks....

Rex

Subject: Re: FTP FROM AS/400 USING URL

hi Rex,

It appears that you've already discovered that the URL feature was added
in 6.1. Given that, I'm wondering what we can help you with?

I am working on two AS/400s. From one AS/400 (V6R1), I can do FTP using
both IP address and URL. But on the other AS/400 (V5R3), I can only do
FTP
using IP Address.

Any help is appreciated.
