× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Unlike RPG or any other HHL language or C/C++, you can set up and invoke SQL statements from an i5 shell. These statements are fundamentally different from a functional perspective. Having an API Finder like interface to do the search is much more time efficient than using the general search. You can use the book, but the finder is faster and doesn't take a big chunk of my dev env memory when I've got a lot of development/test activity running.

Although they aren't technically APIs, it sure it nice to have an easy

far down in the list it takes forever to find! How much work would it

Yeah, that's the spirit. Let's index everything at the top level! Why
should we be concerned about whether a particular thing is SQL or RPG or
some API or even if it's relevant to the area in which the search takes
place? That's why we have computers: let them do the work. All we'd need
to add is a little bit of AI so the machine will know what we mean without
our saying so. But then we shouldn't need search because the system will
show us the answer when we open the browser.
