Just a general comment. When working with this four or five years ago, I remember having to get the CCSID/Code page setting correct for the files with which I was working. Due to the heavy overhead associated with NFS and the fact that it was easier to coordinate most everything via my Windows work station, I installed iNavigator - which has it's own issues - and now either mount everything I need via my WS or use WS_FTP, with very few exceptions. Although my WS is now Lunux, I still run a Windows VM from which I do most of my OS/400 work.

Options from the Mount command. These options are for the REMOTE system.

Coded character set ID: CCSID
Data file CCSID . . . . . . . *BINARY
Path name CCSID . . . . . . . *ASCII
Code page: CODEPAGE
Data file code page . . . . . *BINARY
Path name code page . . . . . *ASCII
