The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
No, beginning with the LTO-4, tape encryption is handled within the tape drive itself. You do however need a encryption key manager, which will be a
stand-alone system, preferably two or more of them for redundancy. From what I've read these "servers" could exist as virtual servers somewhere.
We're still planning our LTO-3 to LTO-4 migration, so I can't say for absolute sure how these new encryption key managers will be laid out.
Good luck,

I am guessing on this, the tape drive does not support the encryption, don't
you need a seperate server to handle that part of it??

Pete,
According to HP, it's 256-bit AES-GCM.
