Sorry. That was my obscure way of telling you that I also have seen this
"problem" (almost exact wording, and approximately the same set of
characters) - and that was when I was in an SQL class. The teacher had

Heh. I once had a classroom assignment to program what we now do with a
minus sign between two dates. It sticks in my mind because it is the
only classroom exercise which has come up in my real work.

I still have a fondness for the phrases "intercalary day". Trouble is,
it's so hard to work into a conversation. Thank you for giving me this
chance <grin />.

On the other hand, I think that intercalary seconds are an evil
abomination.
