We were going back and forth about saving a db connection to a session
variable. You were saying that outofproc the db connection would not
survive the serialization. Is this the case for this app or is the
session saved in the worker process?

Data access is wrapped in (an older version of) our generic data access
code. Each request is a new connection (pooling not withstanding). For
example http://code.midrange.com/60ca85629c.html

What do you mean "out of proc iis situation"?
