Long, long ago at another job I only had the base Ops Nav functions installed. I asked my manager for access to *All functions. He said he didn't mind, but it turned it over to his Sys Admin (a Windows guy). He and his assistant came into my office and grilled me (literally) about why I wanted/needed such and such a function. Finally, I said, "I'm a programmer; I want everything!" Well, there's a security issue, he replied. At which point I *suggested* that he didn't know squat about iSeries (as it was then) security. Since he didn't know squat, he had no comeback. I got a complete install of Ops Nav later that day.

Eventually, the manager wanted me to have access from home to answer off-hours problems. The Sys Admin flipped the disk to me, and told me to install it myself.
